Identifying learner support needs

Based on the gathered real-life professors' experience, Constructor Schools identifies these two types of problems that a learner may encounter:

  • Need support with learning behaviour — learners are listed here if they have had some or all of the following problems: 
    • Low activity — a learner's pace for solving problems is lower than the average, regardless of whether answers are correct or incorrect.
    • Low learning time — a learner’s active learning time is less than 60% of the total logged time. This may indicate that something distracts the learner.
    • Low performance — a learner’s average percentage of successfully completed tasks is lower than the average value within an observation period of 10 learning days with learning sessions of sufficient length.
    • Short sessions — a learner had at least three sessions in a row lasting less than 5 minutes. This may indicate attention issues.
  • Need support in Progress — learners are listed here if they make at least four mistakes in exercises of the same type. This indicates challenges in making progress.

These lists of learners needing support enable you to quickly identify those who are struggling without having to check all learners one by one.

To check learners who need help:

  1. Log in to Constructor Schools, click Coach.
  2. In the Learning board, select the learner group (class) that you want to monitor.

  1. If any learners in this group struggle with the learning process, the number of learners will be displayed in the respective problem area.

  1. To view the information on what kind of problems each learner has, click See details.
  2. To get the description of each type of problem, click the respective problem name. The dialog with the learning difficulties description will open.

  1. Click the arrow > to open the learner's statistics on each exercise.

  1. To see the details on an exercise, on the Training history tab, click next to the respective exercise.

Offer guidance based on the exercises where the learner faces challenges.
