Managing virtual environments
To manage virtual environment (a collection of virtual machines) that your lab uses:
- In the LMS management portal, click
in the upper-left corner.
- Go to Authoring > Labs.
- Select Virtual Machine in the filter.
- Click your lab to open it and switch to the Settings tab.
- In the Environment section, you can:
- Delete an existing virtual machine.
- Add a new virtual machine.
Deleting virtual machines
- In the Environment section of Settings tab, click the more
icon for the virtual machine you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
- Select where to delete a virtual machine from:
- Modify for all the labs — if the environment is shared among several labs, the VM will be deleted for all of them.
- Create and modify a copy — a VM will be deleted only for this lab in a copy of the environment.
Adding virtual machines
- In the Environment section of Settings tab, click +Add virtual machine.
- Select where to add a virtual machine:
- Modify for all the labs — if the environment is shared among several labs, adding a new VM will modify it for all of them.
- Create and modify a copy — a VM will be added only for this lab.
- Specify the following parameters:
- Name new virtual machine — the virtual machine name.
- If you need multiple — the number of virtual machines if you need more than one.
- Network selection — the virtual network or subnet the VM should use to manage its connectivity, including access to other VMs, on-premises resources, or the internet.
- Select the template image for virtual machine — a VM disk with an OS installed that is used as a template for the VM.
- Click
to confirm adding the VM.
