Release 99

Overview

In Release 99, we've introduced the following new features:

  • Enhanced activity scores and grades display
  • Ability to create time constraints for course activities

Additionally, we have been working on backend tasks to enable signing in with a Google account. We've also made progress on class announcements to enable push messages to groups of learners. Furthermore, we've implemented several fixes and improvements to enhance the user experience.

What's new

Enhanced activity scores and grades display

Instructors and administrators now have granular control over how scores and grades are presented for learners: for the entire course or for all individual course activities.

This feature covers various use cases. For example, instructors can configure a course to implement its content flow based on passing scores for specific activities. Therefore, activities will be classified as 'Completed' or 'Passed' depending on these configured thresholds. Alternatively, instructors can use the course grading scale with the minimum passing grade to determine the 'Passed' status for each activity within the course. In this case, the overall grading scale is used to determine the status of every course activity.

Ability to create time constraints for course activities

Instructors can now set time constraints for activities in a course, such as availability dates, due dates, and result visibility dates. These constraints can be set for each term, which is defined by grading periods or learner cohorts determined by dates. Tenant Administrators and Master-data Administrators configure terms individually for each tenant. Specific time constraints apply only to learners enrolled in the corresponding term. Therefore, multiple rules may be set for each term available in the system.

Improvements and fixes

Improvements

Open Catalog enhancement: Tenant administrators now have control over whether the Open Catalog API or the Open Catalog page should be available for the tenant. This allows tenant administrators to enable the Open Course API and restrict access to the Open Catalog page, or make both available for users.

The logic for imported courses was streamlined: When a course is imported, learners cannot review it immediately as only records are imported. However, learners have the option to restart the course to view its content.

Fixes

  • Duplicate records on certificates are no longer displayed in reports.
  • We've fixed how widgets are displayed for restarted LTI activities.
  • In Assessment, buttons for group operations are now shown when a multiple-choice question is used.
  • The table of contents for learners has been improved, and the hide and unhide buttons now function correctly.
  • The issue causing a blank page display when starting a course has been fixed.
  • The mobile view for displaying received certificates has been fixed.
  • Proctoring is no longer stuck in the In progress state after resolving infrastructure issues.

Known issues

  • A new toggle cannot be created within a toggle.
  • New members cannot be added to a newly created team without refreshing the screen.
  • The date and time selector sometimes does not fit on the screen in Reports.
  • When signing out from Avatar, a user is not signed out from LMS.
  • External links to cover images cannot be edited.
  • SCORMs cannot be archived.
  • Error 401 occurs after an upload of a SCORM package is canceled and the second upload attempt is initiated. The page refresh is necessary to initiate the upload.
