Release 116
Overview
In Release 116, we’ve introduced this feature:
- Collaborative assignments
We've also enhanced descriptions for publicly accessible courses and programs, added support for generating links to content hosted across multiple web domains, and resolved inconsistencies in our WYSIWYG course editor. Additionally, we have continued work on developing aggregated survey reports and refining settings for revealing grades and scores to learners.
What's new
Collaborative assignments
We have added a new type of content called "Assignments" in the Content Library. When assignments are added to a course as activities, learners can collaborate on them, working together on open-ended responses, essays, and file uploads. For group projects, all members can contribute, and when grading is complete, each participant receives the same grade. This feature promotes teamwork among learners and simplifies grading for instructors, making it easier to evaluate group work as a single effort.
Improvements and fixes
Improvements
- We’ve enhanced the About page of courses and programs to make attachments accessible to all users, including non-registered visitors, when a course is public. This update enables non-registered users to view and download files from the course description page for essential resources available prior to enrollment.
- Courses and programs can now be linked across multiple web domains. When learning administrators share links to courses or programs, they can select the domain from a list in the course settings. This ensures that the links direct users to the correct site, reducing navigation errors and improving the overall user experience.
- We've refined the content player interface and resolved inconsistencies between the WYSIWYG editor and learner views, so what instructors design more accurately reflects the learner experience. This update enhances the reliability and usability of course previews during content creation.
Fixes
We've made the following fixes:
- Enabled learner dashboards in our testing environments.
- Improved how rich text is displayed in table cells to ensure that multiple lines of text are shown correctly.
- Resolved the CORS error when attaching or opening files in Media blocks or the open catalog.
- Corrected the mouse-over action on module cover images in tiled compositions, ensuring cover images no longer disappear.
- Fixed an error with due dates so that “Overdue” no longer appears on assignment cards when the due date is in the future.
- Enhanced data exchange with the backend to ensure course result information is promptly displayed in the course completion dialog box.
- Preview and edit pages now open correctly in Safari browsers when authors attempt to preview or edit an activity from the Composition tree.
- Resolved an issue with the activity card inside the course failed to display the prerequisite message: "To gain access, you must first complete the previous assignments."
- The Go to my courses button now correctly redirects users to My Courses, instead of the Catalog.
- Styles are now applied to text in the Warning block within the Media block editor.
- The Review button is now correctly displayed for assignments in the In grading status.
