Release 87
Overview
In Release 87, we have introduced a number of improvements to the existing features and the following new feature:
- Content component cover image editor
What's new
Content component cover image editor
Content creators can now attach a cover image to any learning activity they work on in LMS. This feature helps programs, courses, and activities convey their purpose more clearly. To maintain consistency, cover images must adhere to a standard size to ensure a uniform look across all cover images. The standard size also ensures that an image does not overlap LMS service elements, and that they are shown over the course content or activity tiles.
We've introduced an image editor that facilitates resizing and cropping when uploading cover images, which makes conforming to the standard dimensions easier. Additionally, this image editor is available in the instructor interface, which allows instructors to adjust the original photo for properly displaying it in the course details.
Improvements and fixes
We’ve also implemented the system improvements and bug fixes described below.
Reports enhancements
We have added several improvements to the reports:
We now save the original sorting of activities when displaying a per-activity report in the Primary report and custom reports. This enhancement allows instructors to easily track learner progress within a specific course or program.
We've redesigned the appearance of filters in the full-screen report view view to eliminate the need for multiple scroll bars. Users can now scroll horizontally, even if they haven't reached the bottom of the grid. Additionally, we've added support for native scroll gestures on Mac OS.
Users can now either save custom reports with a new name or easily duplicate them for quicker report template creation. We've also updated permissions to allow authors of the report to modify it. Non-authors can create a copy of the report and work with the duplicate.
Content export from EdX
We have created a script that allows authors to export their learning content from open edX to our platform.
Fixes
Users could not open courses using Mozilla Firefox due to an infinite upload loop when accessing the platform via a custom domain.
There were permission issues for the Team Reviewer role.
The date-time selector was not fitting on the screen.
The Finish button was erroneously displayed on courses that were configured without gates.
The Not found error in reports that occurred for quizzes with a due date in the past has been resolved.
A link to the management portal was mistakenly shown for users with only the learner role.
