Prerequisites for Blackboard integration through LTI
The prerequisited for Blackboard integration through LTI are as follows:
(Mandatory) The BlackBoard domain should be accessible via HTTPS so it must have a valid SSL certificate.
(Recommended) The Blackboard cookies should have the following attributes: SameSite=None and Secure=True. This is required for seamless user authentication.
(Optional) Your BlackBoard LMS installation can be running on your organization’s server. Where it’s hosted is important for how student experience will look like:
- On-premise BlackBoard : can be embedded in iframe, so examinees will be able to take proctored exams on desktop using Google Chrome (no Constructor Secure browser installation required).
- Cloud-based BlackBoard: can’t be embedded in iframe so examinees will have to take tests in Constructor Chromium-based Secure Browser.
You need to have an admin account in BlackBoard to set up the integration.
