Managing composition statuses

A composition can have the following statuses:

• Draft — this is the default status of a composition you are working on; compositions can be added to already running courses and their names will be visible to learners.
• Ready — this is the status of complete compositions that are available to learners.
• Expired — this is the status of compositions (assignments) that have expired due dates.
• Archived— this is the status of compositions moved to the archive.

You can include a composition in the Draft status in a course, for example, as an upcoming lesson. The composition name will be displayed in the lessons list, but its content will be disabled. To enable the composition content for learners, click the edit icon  and set its status to Ready.

To edit a composition status:

1. In the Learn management portal, click in the upper-left corner.
2. Go to Authoring > Content libraries.
3. Click Compositions.
4. Find the required composition.
5. Click to call the menu and then click Edit.
   
6. In the composition editor, switch to Properties.
   
7. Scroll to the Status section and select the required status.
8. Click Save and go to content editor.
