Enrolling learners for courses
To enroll a user for a course means to assign to this user a learning content item (a task, course module, course, or program). The user needs to take this unit within a certain period and (if applicable) to complete a quiz or exam to get graded.
You can enroll learners (or groups, or units) in courses in these two ways:
- Make a course mandatory; in this case the course is added to the list of courses assigned to learners and they are required to complete it.
- Make a course optional; in this case the course is added to the catalog of available courses and learners can enroll themselves in it and take the course if they want to.
| Information | If the same user has several types of enrollment in the same course, the priority for the execution of enrollment rules is as follows (starting from the highest priority): 1. Personal (user) enrollment 2. Group enrollment 3. Organizational unit enrollment If the same user has multiple enrollments in the same course within a group or organizational unit, you can manually set the priority for each enrollment instance. See Setting up enrollment priorities. |
